After living in New Zealand for nearly 10 years, Changfang decided it was time to improve her English and build more confidence in everyday life. Originally from China, Changfang speaks Mandarin as her first language and also knows a little Japanese. Before joining DynaSpeak, she mainly taught herself English. Changfang chose to study NZCEL Level 1 Foundation at DynaSpeak because she liked the teachers and believed it would be a supportive place to learn. Her experience has lived up to her expectations. "The people here are very nice." Studying at DynaSpeak has had a positive impact on Changfang's life. She has improved her English, made new friends, and gained a better understanding of New Zealand culture. These experiences have helped her feel happier and more connected to the community. One of Changfang's biggest motivations for learning English is her family. She hopes to be able to confidently communicate with her child's teachers and take part in parent-teacher conferences, allowing her to play a more active role in her child's education. Reflecting on her time at DynaSpeak, Changfang says that every assessment has been meaningful because it has shown her how much she has learned and how far she has progressed.
