My name is Colleen, and I'm originally from China. I've been living in New Zealand for about 6 to 7 years now. Mandarin is my mother tongue, and I also speak the Shanghainese dialect.

When I arrived in New Zealand, my English was very basic, as I had only studied it briefly in school many years ago. I discovered DynaSpeak while searching for free courses in the New Lynn area. Currently, I'm studying at Level 1, and I've found the experience to be much more rewarding than my previous studies at Unitec. At DynaSpeak, I've noticed significant improvement in my writing skills. Now, I can construct full simple sentences with correct grammar, thanks to the helpful guidance of my teacher.

My long-term goal is to communicate freely with others, especially my neighbours and daughter-in-law. To achieve this, I'm committed to continuing my studies at DynaSpeak. I believe that with persistent effort and the supportive learning environment at DynaSpeak, I'll be able to reach my goal of confident English communication.
